It's only socks...right?

Evie had to move from 0-6 to 6-12 month socks this week. It's only socks, right? You would think that having done this before with Jackson, I would expect her to grow up this fast and it would be easier. I don't, and it's not.

And so...believe it or not, Sweet Evie is half a year old! She continues to be happy and smile and giggle all the time. She's trying so hard to sit up and wants to be mobile. I think she'll crawl (unlike her brother), and I think she'll be mobile sooner rather than later. She's still my eating champ - loves avocados and squash so far (we just started solids this week). She's loving her new Christmas bounty - a doll, a musical playmate, a new seat for eating and playing... She's in love with her big brother, and when he graces her with his attention, she just lights up. She also loves her P'Paw, and constantly talks to him. She's not my sleeping champ, so we're still working on the sleeping consistently in her her own bed and all night long thing. :) She's also pretty attached to her Mama, which I mostly love. It's difficult to listen to her scream when I shower or make dinner or fold laundry or make Jackson lunch or, you know, pee. I'm still just glad I get to be with her though, so I'll take it! One day she won't want me to be with her ALL the time, and I'm sure I'll miss these times when she does. Evie is (still) in the 90+ percentile for height? Can anybody explain that one to me?? ;)

My precocious Jackson is just as fabulous as ever. He's rebounding from a cold, so we're looking forward to getting back into a routine (and not watching movies all the time!). Jackson has greatly missed the playground!! He, too, has enjoyed his Christmas bounty - some of his favorites include new trucks/tractors and his racetrack. I'm happy to report that Jackson continues to thrive in our "school" endeavors. We've taken some time off with Christmas and moving, but he's still doing great learning his letters, numbers, and especially his memory verses. We're working on his fifth verse, and I'm amazed at how capable his young mind is of retaining things. He still loves to read - Dr. Seuss books are high on his list right now. He loves singing - Christmas was a lot of fun, and he has favorites on our VBS and kids' songs cds in the car - we listen to those over and over again. He is also really into hearing and telling stories. Lately, we've begun making up stories about Jackson and PigBear (the pig Jackson swore was a bear). Payton, Mommy, and Daddy make frequent appearances in these stories. So do planet Jupiter and water slides.

My kids constantly amaze me, and I couldn't feel more blessed to be their Mama!
