Jackson went for his 4 month checkup today. He weighs 14lb 5oz though I would have put money on him weighing 15lbs or more! He's down to the 35th-ish percentile on weight and weight (24 1/4 in), which is totally expected considering the massive height of his parents (ha!). We're still hoping he gets Justin's height though. Dr. Washington says he looks perfect! He got his second round of shots today, so he's been a little pitiful today, but if he does like last time, he'll bounce back really quickly.
One of his favorite things to do is play on his activity mat. He likes to yell at this blue elephant and eat the elephant's ears. He's pulling himself up on it and threatening to roll over soon. He hates being on his tummy now, so I'm sure it'll happen by accident, not by choice...until he figures out how to move around. He played on bffs' Camden's and Cooper's mat the other night, which had a mirror. He thoroughly enjoyed smiling at himself - vain little thing...(people will tell you that he got that - looking at himself in the mirror thing - from me...I don't know what they're talking about!) He laughs more now, often while nursing. It's sweet. :) He laughs when you tickle him and when you do something he finds entertaining. Andrew got him going good last night...
We've made the adjustment to me being back at work virtually unscathed. I cried all week, but Jackson's been awesome. My good friend Melanie is keeping him, and she (and her 5 kids...don't worry - only 1 of them is home with her during the day) adores him. He is well taken care of which is the only thing that allows me to drop him off each day and go make some money. :) He's gone to bigger bottles, is taking 5.5 oz at a time, and nurses only in the morning and evening/night now (I'm only able to pump once at work). Lots of changes for us over the last 2 weeks, but with the exception of having a hard time pooping, Jackson has done so very well. He's a resilient, good natured baby, so I'm super grateful for that. I'd rather be home with him, but you play the hand you're dealt, right? :)
So glad he's adjusting well... he's a cutie! =)
ReplyDeleteStill in shock at how cute he is. You should show your blog to your students. I'm still working on making one that's school appropriate. :)
ReplyDeleteBFF's Camden and Cooper loved having him over to play! Cooper's almost done with the activity mat, so if y'all want an extra one for Gramma's house, consider it yours!
