Well, people...the epidural injection finally happened! Andrew and I were at Northside Hospital by 7 this morning to get his epidural. The procedure was fairly quick, NSH was fabulous to work with, and so far? The. pain. is. better. The numbness is gone, so we can now say with more certainty that Andrew's back pain is much better. He said the relief was immediate. We go back on the 30th for a second injection and expect the releif to be even more complete then. To say that this is a relief would be an understatement. Andrew will take it easy this weekend, is in a training class early next week at work, and will hopefully be getting back to regular work within the week.
As far as the muscle abscess goes, we spoke to someone last week who had consulted with general surgery. They want Andrew to exhaust his options with the back injections and physical therapy before exploring surgery. That means we're on the right track...finally!
Thanks to all of our prayer warriors. Your consistent prayers were felt and are being answered! God is good!
In other news...
Jackson and I got home from the grocery store last Friday night. Here's how our conversation went.
Me: "Hey, bud...do you want to help me carry groceries in?"
J: "Nooooo....I caaaaan't. Me frow baseballs."
Well, then. That sums it up. Mr. Personality is as precosious as ever having full blown conversations in which he responds and initates with complete sentences. He names shapes like trapazoids, hexagons, and pentagons.
Definance has set in, though. We've had many dinner discussions (and a spanking) over not "frowing" food...only pinecones and baseballs. You know it's the terrible twos when you carry a wooden spoon in your diaper bag. :)
My Panic Moment...
I'm 32 weeks pregnant on Monday. We still assume baby is a girl, but have no definitive word on that. My platelets are stable as of the last month (around 70, which is good...50 is my "magic" - aka go the perinatologist for steroids - number).
